Should English be the world language?

Communication has been an essential element in the society. Humans has developed different ways to express their feelings and opinions, and this has concluded in different languages. They are different, but all of them are important. Nowadays we're living in a global society and we need a world language, in my opinion English should be this world language.
Because of globalization, the commercial borders are disappearing, but language frontiers aren't disappearing as fast as commercial ones, that's why every day is more important a language that can be used in global terms.

It's true that this language could be Chinese because it's the most spoken language, but it's too difficult to learn the language for a person that hasn't got this language as mother tongue. The second most spoken language is Spanish but in the countries that has this language as official aren't commercially as important as some countries that has English as official language. So I believe that English, the third most spoken language in the world, should be the world language.
A part of the importance of the language in the trade, English is easier to learn and speak than most of the other languages.

More over, travelling abroad is becoming more common between people in the first world, and this travellers need to communicate with the natives of the country, that's another reason to have the world language.
In conclusion, although English isn't my mother tongue, I believe that it should be the world language because it's easy to learn, there are a lot of people that speak this language and it has got an important weight in the trade. But we must not lose our own languages, each language is important, they're culture and usually they help to define and identify us.

This appendix shows the most spoken languages in the world.

My ideal job

Nowadays we are hit by an economic crisis. This means that there is a very high level of unemployment, so people have a lot of problems to get a job.
And these levels of unemployment don't hit only unqualified workers, it also hits qualified workers. Students that finishes their degree at university, usually has to leave to other countries to find a job, which means that it is very difficult to find a satisfactory job.
I hope that when I finish my degree, this crisis will be a thing of the past, and the world will be emerging of it.
I don't know what way I'm going to choose, but I've got one thing clear, I would really like to have a job that satisfies me.
An economist, called Douglas Mc Gregor, said that there are two types of workers, the "X" workers, who don't like working and who prefer not having a post of responsibility, and the "Y" workers, who think that work is an activity that fulfill oneselves and who prefer occupying a post which involves a deal of responsibility. I'm a "Y" person, so I would like to occupy a post which involves a deal of responsibility.
Because of my job, I would earn a high wage. I want to help the humanity too, so I would work for a responsible company with the environment and with people. And I would collaborate to make this world a better world to live.
Then when I acquire enough experience, I would set up my own company.
My working day wouldn't be tedious and monotonous. My job would motivate me, and this would make me feel happier, I would carry this happiness with me at home, so I would be happy with my family.

I HAVE A DREAM

Martin Luther King was a fighter for the civil rights of African American people. He devoted all his life to helping people who needed it.
He was against the violence, so his fight was through words and speeches. These are the best weapons to obtain something.
In the course of his life, he did a lot of speeches, but the most famous; eloquent and powerful is, without doubts, the speech "I have a dream".
In this speech, Martin Luther King speaks about equality between white and black people. In his dream there was a world where people weren't judged by their colour, they were judged by the content of their souls.
I have read and listened to his speech some times, and I've been thinking about it.
I have a dream too, similar as Luther King's one. In my dream all of us are judged by our behaviour and, above all, by our acts. In my dream, people help each other in all they need, and all of us are equal in the eyes of the law, and equal in rights.
Unfortunately my dream, and Luther Kings’s one, are still dreams.
It's true that Martin Luther King had achieved a lot of advances in equality, but nowadays we are still living in a world where prejudices are, for a big part of the society, more important than judgments, and where inequality rules in a lot of jobs and houses. Selfishness and avarice are dominating the society too, while in the third world are dying approximately 60000 humans because of the hunger; when we need only 50000 million of dollars once a year to solve this big problem; the Governments of the first world gave to the banking approximately 1 billion 350000 million dollars in the year 2009.
In this world we are living in, people is usually judged by the appearances, and, despite that in theory everyone is equal in the eyes of the law, into practise the law isn't the same for a rich man or woman than for a poor one.
But if all of us have social conscience, and we act together, we can make this world a better world. And in this new world everyone will be happier.
I'm sure my dream, and Martin Luther King's one, will be true in the future, we have progressed a lot in equality, and slowly but untiringly we are building a better world. We still have a lot of work to do, but if all of us cooperate together we will achieve this better world.

THIS DREAM CAN BE TRUE! AND YOU CAN HELP ON IT.

The first day at secondary school

I’ll never forget my first day at secondary school. I was still eleven, so the majority of my partners were older than me.
Although I wanted to go to IES Miramar, I was assigned to IES Mestres. My friends had said that in that school were conflicting people and that the level was very low.
I spent all the summer holidays worried about my future, I thought that I wouldn’t survive in that conditions.
The seventeenth of September of 2007 arrived, and with it, arrived the first day at secondary school. I was absolutely terrified. I didn’t know what kind of people would be in my class, I only knew three friends that had been with me at primary school.
When I arrived at school I could see that I wasn’t the only one that was frightened, all of my partners were nervous too.
I felt alone at class because I didn’t know anyone.
That day we left school earlier because it was only an introduction class, and then I commented with my old partners our feelings. All of us were worried about our future, but we were more relaxed.
Although my beginnings were difficult, I’ve made great friends in that school and I’ve lived some of the best years of my life there.

My earliest memory

I'm sure that all of us have tried to go back in our memories until our earliest one.
A lot of times I have tried to remember my earliest memory, and I have always finished in the same memory. This memory is a bit fuzzy, but I can remember it well.
It was the second September of 1997, and it was my first day in the nursery school and I was very excited.    My mum had said to me that, that day I would go to a place where a teacher would teach me a lot of things and where I would be able to play with other children.
I remember that I was holding my mum's hand while we where walking on the street. Then we arrived to a fence, we crossed the fence and I saw a little park, it was the nursery school's playground. Then we knocked the nursery school's door, and two teachers opened the door with a big smile. While they were caressing my head, they asked my name "Who's this pretty boy?", "Roger" I answered returning the smile, but without leaving my mother's hand.
Then I entered to the class. I can remember well the appearance of the class, there were a lot of small and colourful chairs, a long and colourful table and at the back of the class there was a bathroom. One of the teachers said me that if I wanted, I could play with some toys that were in a box. I looked to my mum, she nodded and kissed me. I sat down to play with the toys, and when I turned my mother wasn't there. I ask to the teacher "Where's my mum?" and she answered that she had just left, I started to cry and shout "mum!, mum!". Then I realized that I wasn't the only one who was crying, another boys and girls where crying and calling to their mums too. After that I can't remember anything more about that memory, only that when my mother came for me, she gave me some sweets to make me happy.
Until that day, when somebody asked me about the school, I always answered "School pooh!".

The best way to learn a foreing language

Hi everybody!
I've been thinking about how to learn a foreign language, and I've arrived to these conclusions:

· If you don't know anything about the language, you should start learning it in an academy.
· But if you can understand the idiom at a basic level, a part to continue studying at school or academy, I recommend you some entertaining activities like:
-Watching films or series in the language that you're learning (if you don't understand anything, it's preferable to put the foreign language subtitles)
          - Listening to music in the foreign idiom (If you want, you can read the lyrics while you're listening to the songs)
These two activities will make you improve your listening comprehension.
          - Reading books (While you're reading, unconsciously your mind is recording the words, so reading is very important to learn how to write well the words. Other than this, reading a lot is the best way to improve your reading comprehension)
          - Having a penpal friend (this is a great option to progress in your writing and you'll probably make a new friend!)
          - But without doubts, the best way to learn a foreign language is going abroad (on your own, with your family, with an exchange...), to a country where you have to speak and listen all the time the language. At first it'll be a bit difficult, but when you get used to it, you'll probably have fun and you'll keep a very good memory about the experience.

This is the song "I was made for loving you", one of the best themes that Kiss have made. (It's with lyrics). I'm learning English, and this is an example about listening and reading comprehension.

If you're interested on exchanges, this is a web page that organizes them. http://es.lingoo.eu/encontar-a-una-familia.html

If you want to watch a film, but you don't know any film to watch, I suggest you V for Vendetta, Da Vinci Code, A perfect getaway, X-men, Resident Evil... If you don't like any of these, please comment this post and I'll suggest another one's.

If you have any doubts or questions, please, comment them in this post.
Yours faithfully,
Roger M.
